LINCOLN – Darrell S. Hurd Sr., 80, husband of Pearl Hurd, passed away Nov. 14, 2004, at a Lincoln healthcare facility after a long illness. He was born Jan. 14, 1924, the son of Maurice and Blanche (Towle) Hurd. He attended schools in Lincoln and the former Maine School of Commerce in Bangor. He worked for many years at Bradstreet Ford Sales and later at Darlings Auto Parts. He was a 50-year member of Horeb Lodge in Lincoln. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling, having been an active member of the Snowhounds Snowmobile Club for many years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pearl of Lincoln; a daughter, Nancy Ginn of Winterport; a son, Darrell Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Lincoln; grandchildren, Angela Coffin, Chad Hurd and Holly Hurd; and two great-grandchildren, Artie Archie and Michael Bushey. Visiting will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, followed by a Masonic service at 2 p.m. Please join the family at the Congregational Church in Lincoln for refreshments after interment at the South Lincoln Cemetery.
