MILFORD – David A. Brown, 62, died unexpectedly Nov. 20, 2007. He was born June 27, 1945, at his Old Town home, the fifth child and only son of Kenneth W. and Nadine M. (Williams) Brown. David was a 1963 graduate of Old Town High School, where he was president of the FFA and a drummer in the band. After graduation, David was drafted into the U.S. Army and served 14 months in Vietnam. Upon returning to the U.S. in 1968, he married the love of his life and best friend, Yvette “Honey” Lacadie. Together they were counselors for the St. Joe’s CYO and received the For God And Youth Award for the Diocese of Portland. Apart from being a great husband, David was a jack-of-all trades. He ran his own auto body shop at home for most of his adult life; however, David also served the town of Milford as the fire chief for five years and as a town selectman. After retiring because of health reasons, he and Honey became antique connoisseurs, traveling the state in search of treasures. David lived his life for his family. No man has ever been more proud of his children or grandchildren. He always tried his hardest to make sure they had what they needed and wanted. Some of his best days were spent fixing up old junk cars so his children could have their first vehicle. David was very grateful for all of the help he and his family received while he was ill and out of work. He always said he was very lucky to have some of the best friends and neighbors in the world. He was predeceased by his parents; father-in-law, Richard F. Lacadie; brothers-in-law, Donald King and James O’Neil Jr.; and nephew, Timothy Day. David is survived by his wife of 39 years; one son, Richard Brown and his wife, Tracy; daughters, Andrea Street and her husband, Jeff, of Old Town, Angela Brown of Alton, and Rachel Brown of Milford; grandchildren, Michael and Makayla Brown of Bradley, Alyssa and Dylan Street of Old Town, and Taylor Brown, Bradley Molloy and Faith Brown of Alton; sisters, Ruth Brown O’Neill of Old Town, Persis Brown of Old Town, Nancy King of Old Town, and Marjorie and her husband, David Jewett, of Bangor; favorite mother-in-law, Marjorie Lacadie; sisters-in-law, Sharon Dupuis and her husband, Ronnie, and Colleen Fowler and her husband, Keith; and brothers-in-law, Richard Lacadie and his wife, Anita, Donald Lacadie and his wife, Linda, Stephen Lacadie and his wife, Mary, and Reggie Lacadie and his wife, Diane. Visiting hours will be held 12:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will begin 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. William Roix officiating. Interment will be held after at St. Joseph Cemetery.
