EXETER – David A. Lane Jr., 75, died Jan. 18, 2007, surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born March 7, 1931, in Bangor, the son of David and Jessie (Bowden) Lane. David loved to drive his truck, tractor and enjoyed farming. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty (Andrews) Lane of Exeter; three sons, David of Newburgh, Alan of Bangor and Paul of Exeter; four daughters, Jessie Lane, Bonnie Morton, Mary Libby, all of Exeter and Valerie Burgess of Carmel; one sister, Frances Sawyer of Glenburn; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Ben Bernard, Tammy Bowden and Tom and Isabelle Moak. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with Pastor Roger Ackerson officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of the service. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the service at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
