ELLSWORTH – David D. Dorr, 57, died Dec. 18, 2004, at his residence in Ellsworth. He was born Dec. 7, 1947, in Laconia, N.H., the son of Gilbert C. and Helen (Hanson) Dorr. David attended Portland High School. He was in the U.S. Marine Corp. and served two tours in Vietnam. For 30 years he was a cook in many restaurants in Bar Harbor. He owned and operated the New England Restaurant for many years, the Corner Caf?, and J. J’s Deli. David worked at Rite Aid for eight years and Jackson Laboratory for nine years. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 25 of Bar Harbor. He is survived by his son, David S. and wife, Patricia A. Dorr, of Bucksport; grandchildren, David Dorr Jr., Jayson Andrew Dorr, Trevor Thomas Reed and Victoria Leigh Reed of Bucksport; and many aunts and uncles. He had a love for animals and especially Tess, his beloved canine friend. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
