MILFORD, CONN. – David McClure, 76, died March 1, 2004, at the New Milford Hospital in Connecticut. He was born in Dover-Foxcroft and resided in Bridgewater, Conn., and Green Lake. He attended Foxcroft Academy and graduated from Bangor High School. Mr. McClure earned a BA from the University of Maine and a MBA from the University of North Carolina. He is a benefactor of all these institutions. He served with the U.S. Navy in both World War II and Korea. Mr. McClure was an employee of Union Carbide Corporation for 35 years and retired as Director of the Corporation’s Analysis Department in 1991. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Yoriko McClure; one brother, Melvin McClure of Ponte Verde, Fla., and Green Lake; a nephew, Wildred Grendell of Lincoln, Neb.; a niece, Brenda Morton of Noblesville, Ind.; grandnephews, grandnieces; many friends and acquaintances. He was predeceased by a sister, Cecilia Grendell. A memorial service will be held 12 noon, Saturday, March 6, 2004, at the Colonial Funeral Home, 87 Park Lane Road, New Milford, Conn. Family will receive friends in the Colonial Funeral Home one hour preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), 424 East 92nd St., New York, N.Y. 10128-6804.
