EAST HODGDON – David S. Barton, 63, died at his home with his family at his side, Jan. 12, 2004. He was born Feb. 9, 1940, in East Hodgdon, the son of Ralph and Blanche (Duff) Barton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lydia (Loveland) Barton of East Hodgdon; four children, Joan Barton of Florida, Raymond, Donna, and Benjamin Barton, all of East Hodgdon; nine grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Keith Barton of East Hodgdon, Grace Ellison of South Carolina, Roger Barton of Lewiston, Lewis Barton of Kansas, and Jean Stewart of Raymond. He was predeceased by one grandson, Matthew; and one brother, Frank. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the East Hodgdon Bible Church, with the Rev. Scott Taylor officiating. Spring interment will be in the East Hodgdon Cemetery.
