PEORIA, ARIZ., and PRESQUE ISLE – Barbara E. (Woodman) Smith, 83, wife of Frank A. Smith Jr., died Jan. 8, 2004, after a brief illness in a local hospital. She was born April 16, 1920, daughter of Ernest O. and Bertha E. (McDonald) Woodman of Washburn. She graduated from the Presque Isle Normal School and taught in the Presque Isle School system. She is survived by her daughter, Susan and husband, John McCauley, of Peoria, Ariz.; her son, David and wife, Phyllis Smith, of Caribou; four grandchildren, Faith Ann Lord of Peoria, Ariz., Michelle (Smith) Mortenson and her husband, Niles, of Logandale, Nev., Kathryn (Smith) Parker and her husband, Ryan, of Logan, Utah, Stephen Smith of Caribou; and three great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at the Congregational Church in Presque Isle.
