MEDWAY – David “Scott” Van Ess, 47, husband of Selina (Stanley) Van Ess, died Feb. 23, 2006, at an Orono nursing home. He was born June 20, 1958, in East Orange, N.J, the son of John David and Patricia (Hughes) Van Ess. Scott’s family would like to thank Eastern Maine Medical Center and all the dialysis programs for all the care given to Scott over the years. “Dad, you gave it a real good fight and we’re proud of you.” In addition to his mother, Patricia of Lincoln; and his wife, Selina of Medway; he is survived by two sons, Andy and Paul, both of Medway; mother and father-in-law, Betty and Tashie Stanley of East Millinocket; two cats, Simon and Pumpkin; one dog, Toni. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Russell and Beulah Hughes of Houlton. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, at Zion Pentecostal Church, Mattawamkeag, with the Rev. Tyler Davis, officiating.
