NEW YORK – Deanne M. Murray, passed away March 23, 2005. She was born Sept. 24, 1937, in Manset, the daughter of Joseph E. and Iona Mae Murray. Deanne lived most of her childhood and adult life in New York, where she raised two children, Tommy and Debbie, mostly single handedly while acquiring a bachelor degree in nursing that ultimately led to her supervisory position in building 39 at King’s Park State Hospital. Though Deanne had many accomplishments through-out her life she never lost sight of what was most important to her, of course that was her family and especially her grandchildren. Deanne will be deeply missed by her son, Thomas P. White of Dedham; and granddaughters, Kelly Lee White and Skye Mairead White; stepgrandchildren, Padraic J. Brown and his new wife, Natalie, of Sacramento, Calif.; stepdaughter, Caitlin Marie Brown of Chicago, Ill.; her daughter, Debbie Lee LeBlanc and her husband, Jason and his loving family, of Miller Place, N.Y.; her first grandchild, Sean Patrick LeBlanc, first granddaughter, Corie Deanne LeBlanc, Deanne is also survived by and will be forever missed by her three surviving siblings and their extended families, Carleton “Sandy” Alexander Murray and his wife, Marge, of Thomaston, Joseph P. Murray and Brenda of Little River, S.C. and her only other sister, Alana Cheryl Murray and her husband, Gene, of Rockland; many nieces and nephews, and two great-nephews; a cousin, Steve Murray and his wife, Marcia, of Old Town. Deanne remained as close as possible to all given her circumstances and illness. We hope Deanne will be joined now by her oldest brother, Russell Halsey Murray, of whom she was very close to during childhood. Russell disappeared mysteriously many years ago. After a long struggle with a disease our angel has come home in peace and absent of anymore pain as she will rest permanently in Acorn Cemetery, Rockland next to her most endeared mom and dad, Iona Mae and Joseph E. Murray, where all are invited to attend a service being held Memorial day weekend, 2005 (please contact Deanne’s children for details). A scholarship fund for the School of Nursing has been set up on her behalf by her brother, Joseph, his wife, Brenda, and his wonderful daughters, Deanne’s nieces, Lisa, Cheryl and Denise and their families. Donations may be made in memory of her to the Stonybrook University School of Nursing, Dr. Gene Mundie, School of Nursing, Health Sciences Center, Level 2-220, Stony Brook, N.Y. 11794-8240. God bless you mother, grandmother Dee, sister, aunt and friend to all. Deanne lived her life selflessly as she always had time for her family and friends. God bless you angel Deanne. You’ll live in our hearts forever.
