GOULDSBORO and BROOKLIN – Deborah F. Payne, 44, wife of Daniel Payne, died Jan. 18, 2003 at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. She was born Jan. 21, 1959, at Pensacola, Fla. Debbie had lived in the Gouldsboro-Winter Harbor area for 25 years. Debbie will be remembered for her elegance, hard work and sense of humor, bringing joy to all around her. She is known for her hospitality and fine cooking in several area restaurants. She was the owner, along with her husband, of Mashed Potatoes Restaurant in Sullivan. She won awards for her fine fish chowder. She enjoyed camping trips on the boat and gardening. She especially loved her birds, especially Greycie, her parrot. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Payne, of Brooklin; her mother, Carolyn Gidens; brother, Steven Hargar and her “little blister” sister, Michelle and several nieces and nephews, all of Pensacola. At her request, there will be no services. Donations in her honor can be made to your local charity.
