BELFAST – Deborah (Paradise) Custer, 71, formerly of Kent, Conn., died May 22, 2007, at Harbor Hill. She was born April 13, 1936, in New Haven, Conn., daughter of Nathaniel B. and Margaret B. (Woodford) Paradise. She was a longtime librarian at the Kent Memorial Library, Kent, Conn. After retiring, she moved to Islesboro. Deborah was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Custer. She is survived by her sons, John B. Custer and his wife, Karen, of Meriden, N.H., and Arthur B. W. Custer and his wife, Michelle, of Avon, Conn.; a sister, Margaret Spoor of Newport News, Va.; grandchildren, Nathaniel B. Custer, Charles H. Custer, Timothy D. Custer, Nicholas C. Custer and Benjamin B. Custer; nieces and nephews, Cornelia, Victoria, and Jan Spoor and Barbara and John Custer. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
