FALMOUTH – Dexter Jackson, 58, died unexpectedly Nov. 20, 2005, in Eastport. He was born in Eastport and grew up in Bangor. He graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington, where he met his wife, Kathleen. They moved to Falmouth where Dexter taught special education in the Falmouth school system. He then transferred his skills to Morong Brothers in Falmouth and Brunswick, followed by AAA in Portland. He left AAA to pursue a different path Downeast where he made his second home and went to work for Spinnaker Realty. He loved being back Downeast having spent his early childhood in Dennysville. He and his wife, Kathleen, would travel back and forth between the two homes. Dexter was known for his amazing sense of humor, quick wit and gift of gab. He knew no strangers and always had a story to tell. He was a dedicated son, husband and father. He will be remembered for his never-ending words of wisdom, which always began with “Tuck this away.” Dexter is survived by his mother, Olive Higgins Jackson of Portland; his wife, Kathleen Nugent Jackson of Falmouth; son, Tory Paul Jackson and his wife, Kristen, of King’s Beach, Calif.; son, Jeremy Ryan Jackson, currently residing in Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Thayle Jackson Heggie and husband, David, of Greensboro, N.C.; and daughter, Katrina Jackson, currently residing in Greensboro, N.C. Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday Nov. 25, at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Patrick’s Church, 1242 Congress St., Portland.
