GURNEE, Ill. – Diana “DeDe” (Clement) Leyva, 50, of Gurnee, Ill., formerly of Levant, died March 16, 2004, after a prolonged illness. She was the devoted wife of Steve Leyva. In addition, she is survived by and was the proud mother of Matthew, Amy and Michael Leyva; her father, Frederick Clement and his wife, Joan, of Bar Harbor and Florida; and her mother, Glenda (Withee) Coffey and her husband, Lou, of Long Grove, Ill.; sisters, Nancy Schroeder and her husband, Andy, and Sue Bergeron and her husband, John, all of Illinois; stepbrother, Rick Copp of California; and stepsister, Holly Simason of Bar Harbor. Additionally she is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Debbie, in 1966. DeDe was previously employed as an administrative assistant to the superintendent on New Trier High School. DeDe was well known in the many areas she lived in and was loved by all who knew her. Funeral services were held March 19 at McMurough Funeral Chapel in Libertyville, Ill.
