BAR HARBOR – Dianne Cunningham Nadeau, 56, wife of Chris H. Nadeau, died at Mount Desert Island hospital Oct. 5, 2003. Dianne was born March 9, 1947, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Sadie Lambert Cunningham and the late Ralph Cunningham. She was a 1965 graduate of Bar Harbor High School and 1971 graduate of the University of Connecticut. Dianne and her mother were the co-owners of Bar Harbor Gift Shop for 32 years. Animals have always been a huge part of her life, and she was devoted to caring for her many pets. As the wife of a Marine, Dianne became actively involved with Chris in the Marine Corps League and the American Legion. For the past several years the MDI Hospital Auxiliary had been an important part of her life. She served as treasurer and volunteer. Dianne is survived by her husband, Chris; mother, Sadie; brother, Michael and his wife, Debbie, of Scarborough; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and many friends, especially Lisa Farley who was extremely supportive through Dianne’s illness. At Dianne’s request gifts in her memory may be made in her name to the MDI Hospital Auxiliary, care of MDI Hospital, 8 Wayman Lane, Bar Harbor, ME. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003. Friends and family are invited to gather at the home of Sadie Cunningham after the funeral at 294 Maine St. in Bar Harbor.
