PRESQUE ISLE – Dickie “Jake” Moran, 68, died Aug. 1, 2007, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born Aug. 14, 1938, in Presque Isle. He attended the First United Pentecostal Church, Presque Isle. He had been employed by several area farmers for many years. He was later employed at MPG, Presque Isle and then more recently for Langille Construction. Because of his love of taking things apart and then putting them back together again, he was lovingly known to his family as “Fingers Moran.” Jake loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his parents, Clifford A. and Rena (Cray) LaFrancis of Presque Isle; a son and his wife, Kevin and Henny Moran of Fulton, N.Y.; bothers and sisters, Bonnie Goodwin of Castle Hill, Reginald “Keith” Moran of Muncie, Ind., Irene Owens and Elaine Akerson, both of Caribou, Fred LaFrancis of Castle Hill, and Theresa Woodworth of Presque Isle; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Fairmount Cemetery with Pastor Anthony Scott officiating.
