JONESPORT – Donal Keith Church passed away May 26, 2007. Keith, the son of Bill and Geneva Church, was born July 6, 1931, and raised in Jonesport. He attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, where he received his Associate of Arts degree in 1951, and met and married Muriel Dressler, the mother of his four children. Keith was an outstanding and fun-loving father, as he and Muriel raised their children in Bangor, Bucksport, West Springfield, Mass., and Wethersfield Conn., while working for Getty Oil Co. in the 1950s and 1960s. They moved to California in 1969 where Keith was a sales manager for Allstate Insurance until his retirement in 1983. Upon retirement Keith returned to Jonesport and followed in his father’s footsteps, holding the office of first selectman from 1988 to 1995. In 1998, he married his childhood friend, Carolyn Sawyer, and they spent many happy years dividing their time between their winter home in Westlaco, Texas, where Keith was known for his billiards skills, and great sense of humor; and their summer home at Sandy River Beach, where Keith loved spending time with his grown children and their families, all of whom have loved him dearly and will miss him terribly. Keith was a member of the Jonesport Masonic Lodge No. 188 and Community of Christ. He was predeceased by his parents; his infant sister, Constance; and his canine buddies, Bear and Max. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; his children and their spouses, Kathie and Bob Price, John and Sharon Church, Michael and Shelly Church and Kraig and Linda Church; his grandchildren, Jonathan Price and wife, Tracy, Joshua Price and fianc?e, Melanie, Elizabeth Parker and husband, Johnny, Sarah Alley and husband, Frank, and Erin, Rachel and Billy Church; and five wonderful great-grandchildren, Cody and Christopher Price, Dakota Parker, and Zoey-Jeanne and Austin Alley. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, at Greenwood Cemetery, Jones-port. Remembrances may be sent to Community of Christ, P.O.
