MILLINOCKET – Donald “Budgie” Herbert Michaud Sr., 77, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1930, in Wytopitlock, the son of Donald Joseph and Nora Grace (Austin) Michaud. He enjoyed getting in his car and going for a drive, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be remembered mostly for his simplicity, his big heart and the way he could make us smile. He is survived by three daughters, Terry Burtchell of Mars Hill, Arlyenna Cary of Brewer and Sandra Perkins of Houlton; two sons, Thomas Michaud of Mars Hill and Donald Michaud Jr. of Houlton; a brother, Larry Michaud of Mars Hill; the mother of his children, Winnifred Little of Mars Hill, 21 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, William Michaud Sr. in 1980; a daughter, Nora Bradeen in 1993; two sisters, Dorothy Springer and Betty Lou Haggerthy; and a brother, Curtis Michaud. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, with Pastor Garnett Chute officiating. Relatives and friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Spring interment will be at Wytopitlock Cemetery.
