MECK, N.C. – Donald David Wisch, 76, of Huntersville, N.C., died May 23, 2008, with his family, at home after a two-year battle with cancer. Donald was the son of the late Joseph and Rachel Wisch. Donald is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cynthia Alexander Wisch; daughter, Carrie McGrady and husband, Donavan; grandchildren, Rachel McGrady and Emily McGrady; bro-ther, Herbert Wisch and wife, Daryl, of Chester, Vt.; and four nieces and nephews. Donald was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Atlantic City, N.J. After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean War. Donald taught electronic and mechanical engineering classes at Kessler Air Force Base, Mississippi, after his tour in Korea. Upon discharge from the Air Force, Donald worked at RCA, Minneapolis Honeywell, in ground and airborne radar. After marriage in 1971, Donald and his bride moved to Bangor, where Donald worked in real estate. Donald joined Ford Aerospace and Communication, Thule, Greenland. Returning to Huntersville, N.C., he worked for the city of Charlotte, N.C., in the Radio Communications Department, retiring in 1999. The family expresses their deepest appreciation to Dr. Woodard and staff, University Radiation Oncology Center and Hospice of Lake Norman. The family will receive fri-ends 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at Raymer Funeral Home, Huntersville, N.C. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, in the chapel of Raymer Funeral Home with the Revs. JE Wayland Jr. and G. Woody Alexander officiating.
