POINT PLEASANT, N.J. and MACHIASPORT – Donald DenBleyker, 71, passed away, Monday, April 24, 2006, at his Point Pleasant, N.J. home, with his family at his side. Born in Avenel, N.J. he had previously lived in Manalapan, N.J., moving to Point Pleasant, N.J. 23 years ago and spending four months yearly in Machiasport. A U.S. Air Force, Korean War veteran, Mr. DenBleyker was employed by P.S.E. & G. for 34 years, retiring in 1994 as shift supervisor. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed gardening. A beloved husband, loving father, brother, grandfather and friend, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet (Foster); his daughter and son-in-law, Sue and John Jacobson of Point Pleasant, N.J.; and two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Jodi DenBleyker of Frenchtown, N.J. and David and Darcy DenBleyker of Eatontown, N.J. Also surviving are two brothers, John of South Portland and Robert and his wife, Beverly, of Blairsville, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Hannah, Robert, Matthew, John and Thomas. A service to commemorate his life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, 910 Beaver Dam Rd., Point Pleasant, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions made to either St. Gregory’s Pantry, 804 Bay Ave., Point Pleasant, NJ 08742 or to the Porter Memorial Library, 52 Court St., Machias, ME 04654, would be appreciated.
