DOVER-FOXCROFT – Donald Merle Lewis, 87, husband of the late Dorothy (Crossman) Lewis, died Dec. 22, 2005, at his residence. He was born May 30, 1918, in Hanover, N.H., the son of Richmond and Agnes (Hall) Lewis. Don attended Guilford schools, and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He had been employed at Guilford Woolen Mill for 30 years. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy, in 2004; a sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Glen Burgess; a sister-in-law, Harriet and husband, Winston Harmon; a brother-in-law, Richard Chase. He is survived by two sons, Richmond and his wife, Pauline, of New Gloucester, Mark and his wife, Judy, of Monson; a daughter, Roxie and her husband, Andy Burachansky, of New Jersey; a sister-in-law, Joanne and husband, Delbert Flood, of Newport; a brother, Larry Lewis and friend, Ellie, of Florida; eight grandchildren, Glen and his wife, Shari Gottlieb, of New Jersey, Melissa and her husband, Jeff Quick, of New Jersey, Joshua and his wife, Gina, of Casco, Jessica and her husband, Adam Frye, of Naples, Jeffrey Lewis of Massachusetts, Jeremy Lewis of Casco, Elizabeth Lewis of Monson, Christopher Lewis of Monson; five great-grandchildren, Zachary Gottlieb of New Jersey, Preston Frye of Naples, Emily Quick and Kieren Quick, both of New Jersey, and Brianna Lewis of Casco; several nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be announced in the spring. Those who wish, may make memorial contributions to the Salvation Army, 65 South Park St., Bangor, ME 04401.
