BREWER and BANGOR – Lester Sanford Annis Jr., 75, died Dec. 22, 2005, at his home in Brewer. He was born Aug. 2, 1930, in Bangor, the son of Lester Sanford and Thelma M. (Bennett) Annis Sr. Lester was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1950, and a drummer in the school band. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War. Lester was formerly employed by N.H. Bragg & Son, the W.S. Emerson Co. and retired after many years in the purchasing department of the Merrill Trust Company of Bangor, now Merrill Merchants Bank. He was a member of the Columbia Street Baptist Church. Lester is survived by one sister, Eleanor F. Rounsaville and her husband, Kenneth, of Bangor; two nephews, Gary K. Rounsaville and his wife, Karen, of Dedham, the Rev. Dr. Mark S. Rounsaville and his wife, Nadine, of Springfield, Mo.; great-nieces and great-nephews, Candace and Craig Rounsaville, Amy and Adam Pearson. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Lorraine. Friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Peter Sprague, pastor of the Columbia Street Baptist Church and Lester’s nephew, the Rev. Dr. Mark Rounsaville, pastor of Baptist Temple, Springfield, Mo., officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Bucksport.
