PORTLAND – John Ellis Leith, 51, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005. He was born Sept. 10, 1954, in Fort Fairfield, a son of Donald V. Sr. and Sarah (Giggey) Leith. He graduated from Houlton High School. John was a quiet man and often kept to himself. He was quite knowledgeable in the arts as he enjoyed music, visiting art museums and reading. In past years he had played the trumpet and guitar. As well, he enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sitting in the park, cooking and visiting friends. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Donald V. “Ken” Jr. and Patrick Leith. Surviving are his long time companion, Barbara Waugh of Portland; his siblings, Charles Yessian of Connecticut, Martha Parady of Fort Fairfield, Thomas Leith of Connecticut, Judy Perley of Massachusetts, Peter Leith of Portland and Louella Corriveau of Connecticut and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 12-1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland, followed by a 1 p.m. Memorial Service.
