CALAIS – Donald N. Sellars, 75, passed away on the morning of June 5, 2008, at Calais Regional Hospital, after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. Donnie was born March 18, 1933, in Calais, son of the late Fred and Doris (Ludlow) Sellars. After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On Nov. 4, 1955, Donnie married Joyce Leavitt in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Donnie worked for the city of Calais as a firefighter for a time, and then went to work for Dead River Oil Co., as a delivery driver. Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joyce; his adoring daughter, Linda Clark; his brother and best friend, Francis Sellars; three sisters, Joyce Santoes, Freda Finley and Geraldine Ross; granddaughter, Shannon Carr; grandson, Shawn Clark; great-grandson, Josh Carr; and great-granddaughter, Cassidy Carr. Donnie was a guiding light to his family and a corner stone of love that will be greatly missed. It was his wish that no public viewing or services be conducted.
