MERRILL – Donnis E. White, 58, passed away Jan. 7, 2006, at his home. He was born May 9, 1947, in Island Falls, the son of Ernest “Buck” and Mildred (Bragdon) White. Donnis was a hard worker all of his life working as a woodsman. The greatest joy in his life was his three grandchildren. In addition to his mother of Houlton, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara (Tucker) White of Merrill; two sons, John White of Merrill and Joseph and his wife, Leanne White, of Smyrna; three very special grandchildren, Ashton, Austin and Alex White of Smyrna; five brothers, Ernest “Pete” and his wife, Linda, of Greenville, N.C., Hiram and his wife, Joan, of Wallingford, Conn., Phillip and his wife, Penny, of Dyer Brook, Steven and his wife, Ruby, of Smyrna and Harris and his wife, Patti, of Oakfield; three sisters, Dolphine “Sissy” of Smyrna, Ella and her husband, Carl Smith, of Houlton and Virginia of Smyrna. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. His mother-in-law, Vera and her husband, Asa Rockwell, of Houlton. He was predeceased by his father and his sister, Dorothy. Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Monday at the Bethel Pentecostal Church, Oakfield with funeral services being held 2 p.m. with the Rev. Marcel Daigle officiating. Spring interment will be in the Merrill Cemetery. Arrangements by the Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
