PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Doris Campbell Larrabee, 94, passed away Jan. 2, 2007, at St. Lucie Medical Center, Port St. Lucie, Fla. Doris was born April 2, 1912, in Masardis, the daughter of the late Joseph and Olive (Theriault) Campbell. Doris moved with her family to Washburn in 1926, where she graduated from Washburn High School in 1930. She attended Ricker Classical Institute and Colby College. She returned to Washburn, helping in her mother’s beauty shop and then working in the town manager’s office from 1935 to 1948. In 1949, Doris married Willard “Tom” Larrabee and they founded Larrabee Insurance Agency. Retiring to Florida in 1969, they lived first in Avon Park and then Fort Lauderdale for 25 years. She moved to Port St. Lucie, Fla., in 1995. Predeceased by her husband, Tom, in 1994, Doris is survived by her daughter, Beth. She will be greatly missed by many loving friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie, Fla., with interment in the spring at Crouseville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Washburn Library, Main Street, Washburn, ME 04786. Arrangements are through Aycock Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie, Fla.
