MERCED, Calif. – Doris (Parker) Kneher, born Sept. 19, 1924, peacefully went to be with her husband Sept. 2, 2007, with loved ones at her side, at Mercy Medical Hospital, Merced, Calif. Doris loved and missed her home and family in Maine. She loved talking to her brother and sisters on the phone. She looked forward to going to church every Sunday, playing bingo and visiting with her friends. She loved to receive gifts from her beloved state of Maine. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Margaret (West) Parker of Masardis; her husband, Charles Kneher of Merced, Calif.; and her only brother, Harold T. Parker of Oakfield. She is survived by her son and his wife, Bradly and Deborah of Merced, Calif.; her three sisters, Velma (Parker) Craig of Bangor, Elsie (Parker) Gibson of Ashland and Phyllis (Parker) Harris of Wash-burn. Doris had many nieces and nephews who loved her and will miss her; a very special niece and her husband, Stephen and Gail Jackson of Atwater, Calif., who helped care for her for many years. A memorial service was held Sept. 8, at Church of Christ, Merced, Calif. The interment was private.
