PITTSFIELD – Dorothea E. Jones died peacefully Sunday, July 6, 2008, with her loving family by her side, at Redington-Fairview General Hospital, Skowhegan. She had been a resident for four years at Cedar Ridge, Skowhegan. She was born July 14, 1909, in Troy, the daughter of Claire and Inez Stone. She graduated from Walpole High School, Massachusetts. In 1934 she married Edmund Jones of Norfolk, Mass. Together they went into the poultry business in 1952, retiring in the early ’70s. She was a homemaker most of her life. She was predeceased by her sisters, Ruth Perdue and Agnes Hassler. She is survived by two children; her daughter, Louise Martin of Skowhegan, who visited her daily and made her last years enjoyable; her son, Edmund Jones Jr. of Pittsfield; six grandchildren, Doug and Jeff Jones of Jacksonville, Fla., Allan of Pittsfield, Perley Martin and wife, Cathy, of St. Albans, Monica Rogers and husband, Shannon, of Alpharetta, Ga., and Lisa Lewia and husband, Charles, of Doung Guan Province, China; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, Alec; many nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, performed by the Rev. Mary Angela Davis at Pittsfield Village Cemetery. Reception will be afterwards at the home of Bud and Barbara Jones. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in Dorothea’s memory to First Congregational Church, P.O.
