ORONO – Dorothy Belle Reardon, 95, died Nov. 4, 2007, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Feb. 20, 1912, in Watertown, Mass., the daughter of Charles S. and Alice M. (Willey) Allen. Dorothy graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1928. For many years, she was employed by Bangor Daily News and the University of Maine in Orono. She is survived by her children, Gen. David C. Gildart and his wife, Sally, of San Antonio and Suzanne A. Gallagher and her husband, Brian, of Orono; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Gildart of Zephyrhills, Fla. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John W. Reardon; son, Phillip W. Gildart and four siblings. Friends are invited to call 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Farley officiating.
