MOUNT DESERT – Dorothy “Dottie” M. Graves, beloved mother, died peacefully, Dec. 28, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Nov. 6, 1926, in Gouldsboro, the daughter of Lewis K. and Hilda (Haycock) Moore. She received her registered nursing diploma at Eastern Maine General Hospital and was a well respected and devoted caregiver for more than 30 years. Dorothy is survived by four loving daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Richard Braman of Hebron, Conn., Cheryl and Edward Libitzki of Mount Desert, Sally and Scott Hadley of Lamoine, and Christina and William Krenicki of Wheaton, Ill.; one brother, Earl C. Moore of Northeast Harbor; eight grandchildren, Christopher Braman, Elizabeth Braman, Rachel McCabe and husband, Jason, Andrea Libitzki, Chelsea Libitzki, Daniel Hadley, Anya Krenicki and Preston Krenicki; five great-grandchildren, Maya, Hailey and Belle McCabe, Max Libitzki and Jennifer Braman. She also leaves behind a great many “adopted” daughters and sons, as well as friends, family and colleagues. Dorothy was a true loving and caring spirit, who touched everyone she met in a very unforgettable way. She was predeceased by two brothers, Bryant C. Moore and Lewis K. Moore Jr. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at Church of Our Father in Hulls Cove, with Father Chuck Bradshaw, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dorothy’s name to the Mount Desert Nursing Association, P.O. Box 397, Northeast Harbor, ME 04662. The people of the MDNA helped our mother in many ways and provide the community with a valuable service. Mom would be glad. Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert.
