OLD TOWN – Dorothy M. Pratt, 82, passed away Wednesday April 7, 2004, at a Bangor hospital following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 11, 1921, in Sangerville, daughter of the late John and Elsie (Davis) McDermott. Dorothy was a graduate of Sangerville High School, Class of 1940. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 16, Shelton, Conn. She enjoyed her friends and various activities including swimming at the Old Town/Orono YMCA. She is survived and will be sadly missed by daughters, Gail (Mitchell) Rosenbaum and her husband, Richard, of Connecticut, Brenda (Mitchell) Lingley and husband, Lee, of Dennysville; son, Philip Mitchell and his wife, Ruth (Snowman), of Medway; a sister, Thelma Wyman of Sherman Mills; two brothers, Ralph McDermott and his wife, Lois, of Belfast and Richard McDermott of Sangerville; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Gordon and Lynn Pratt, Dale and Gloria Blake and families of Lincoln. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Lloyd Pratt.
