DOROTHY R. CUMMINGS SALISBURY COVE – Dorothy Rita Cummings, 77, spent the last hours before her death surrounded by her husband and children. She passed peacefully from this world on the morning of May 8, 2004. She was born into a large Irish Catholic Family, Oct. 14, 1926, the daughter of Howard and Elizabeth (McGee) Muse. She grew up through poor times and learned early that hardship was a part of life. Throughout her life she was a compassionate, caring daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. It was in her role as mother, and later as grandmother, that she had the most pride and love. She relished all her children’s accomplishments and stood by them in their toughest times. She spent her life wanting the best for those around her. She knew it was all the small moments in her life that gave the greatest joy and her happiest times were spent in the pleasure and company of her family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Cummings; and her children, Mary Eastman and husband, Bill, of Brewer, Dan Cummings and Dawn Peters, of Bangor, Ann Cummings, Kathy St. German and husband, Peter, all of Bar Harbor, Betty Goodspeed and husband, Scott, of Hermon, Jack Cummings and wife, Caroline, of Bangor, Cindy Belcher and husband, Jim, of Winterport, and Melanie Kennedy and husband, Phil, of Durham.
