MANCHESTER, Calif. – Dorothy V. Moser, passed away June 5, 2006, surrounded by her loving daughters, at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. She was born Nov. 3, 1918, in the Bronx, N.Y., to William and Verna Farley. She worked as a department manager at G. Fox & Co. in Hartford, Conn., selling Girl and Boy Scout products for 30 years. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Marjorie Quinn of Ellsworth, Wendy Hofstetter and her husband, Hans, of Gualala, Calif. and Jack Moser and his wife, Beverly, of Glenmont, N.Y.; grandchildren, Melissa, Francis, Sean and Dennis; great-granddaughters, Emma and Sydney; her niece, Beverly Gluhosky and her husband, Frank, of Florida; and William Walker, her partner in California of 20 years. She was predeceased by her ex-husband, David Moser of Rocky Hill, Conn.; and her sister, Frances Lemay of Hartford, Conn. A private memorial service will be held at Albert Meadow in Bar Harbor with the Rev. George Swanson presiding. An additional family service will be held at Dorothy’s home of 20 years, Manchester, Calif., at a future date.
