HOULTON – Duane E. Lambert, 71, died June 5, 2006, with his family at his side in Houlton. He was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Houlton, the son of Milton and Mildred (Allen) Lambert. He graduated from Houlton High School and Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute and retired from New England Telephone Co. after 33 years. He was instrumental in the construction and maintenance of the Linneus Sno Sports Clubhouse where he enjoyed being a member and volunteered at the Houlton Regional Hospital. Duane was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers, quilting and telling stories. He is survived by three children, Lorraine and her husband, Barry Robinson, of Benedicta, William and his wife, Reneta Lambert, of Monticello and Deborah Gaw of Skowhegan; five grandchildren, Brad, Raeleen, Brian, Trey and Brittany; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Keith Lambert of Fort Kent, Don Lambert of Farmingdale, Bryce Lambert of Brunswick and Neal Lambert of Augusta; one sister, Joyce Saunders of Houlton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by five brothers, Winston, Deane, Blaine, Milton and Clair; and two sisters, Crete Gentle and Jean Jackins. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Monday, June 12, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with Pastor Macelle Daigle officiating.
