ELLSWORTH – E. Jeanette (Linnehan) Wood, affectionately known by her family as Alice, 81, of Ellsworth went home to be with her Lord, June 10, 2005. She was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Ellsworth, the daughter of J. Harold “Tommy” and Lila H. (Grindle) Linnehan. A graduate of the Ellsworth schools, she owned operated Linnehan Real Estate for more than 20 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed a long retirement spending her summers at Beech Hill Pond in Otis and her winters in Clearwater Beach and Nokomis, Fla. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, in Ellsworth. Jeanette was predeceased by her father, mother and her husband, Martin H. Wood; and her brother, John D. Linnehan. She is survived by her sister, Nancy and her husband, Ray Clark; daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Clifford Cain, of Holden; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Jean Wood, of Ellsworth; grandsons, Christopher Cain of Littleton and Holden, Jonathan Wood of Ellsworth, Zachary and his wife, Holly Cain, of Presque Isle, and Matthew Wood of Ellsworth; granddaughter,, Jessica Cain of Holden; sisters-in-law, Hope Linnehan and Barbara Wood; brother-in-law, Lawrence “Lonnie” Collier; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 10 a.m. Thursday, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Barry Blackstone, officiating.
