ELLSWORTH – E. Louise Richardson, 91, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born Oct. 12 1912, in Hancock, the daughter of Everett and Helen (Butler) Richardson. Louise was a graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1930 and attended the Castine Normal School. She was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church from 1938 until 1956 when she took her letter to the United Baptist Church in Ellsworth. For many years, she taught the Junior Church in Franklin and started the Junior Church in Ellsworth in 1957, continuing for more than 46 years until she was taken ill at the end of October. She loved children and working in her garden. Louise worked for J.J. Newberry as head cashier from 1936 until 1988. She helped train new cashiers in Rockland, Calais and at Britt’s Department Store in Ellsworth. Louise was predeceased by her father in 1949 and her mother in 1982. She is survived by several cousins, including James Richardson of Bar Harbor, Joan and Linwood Young of Florida and Dorothy Lynch of Massachusetts. Louise will be sadly missed by her many friends and most of all her twin sister, Rena. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Bragdon-Kelley Campbell Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, at the United Baptist Church, corner of Pine and Hancock Streets, Ellsworth, with the Rev. Dr. Branan Becknell, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Bayview Cemetery, Franklin.
