GLENBURN – E. Wayne Huff, 73, passed away March 24, 2005, at Togus Hospital after a long illness. He was born Oct. 1, 1931, in Byesville, Ohio, the son of Clarence and Harriet (Vincent) Huff. After Wayne graduated from high school he went into the Navy. He was in the Navy for five years during which time he met and married his wife, Samantha Gerrish while he was stationed at Winter Harbor. He graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, where he received a BS Ed then received his M Ed from University of Maine. His teaching career began in Ohio where he taught for several years. Most recent teaching at Central High School. He enjoyed teaching, his computer, his HAMM radio, bowling, golfing and family. He also enjoyed being involved with his son’s racecar and being with the guys of Huff Racing. He will be missed by many. Associations he belonged to included Northeast Maine Ten Pin Bowling Association, Secretary; Secretary, Latecomers League at both Family Fun Lane and Heritage Bowling Center, Past Master of Point Pleasant Lodge No. 360 A.F. & A.M. in Pleasant City, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Samantha (Gerrish) Huff; three daughters, Victoria Brawn, Joyce Huff and Bobbie Fogg, all of Glenburn; three sons and their wives, Timothy and Sonny Huff of England, Kris and Rhonda Huff of Orrington, and Jon and Sarah Huff of Eddington; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Litazelle Long and her husband, Larry, of Pleasant City, Ohio. He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Robert Huff and Willard Hoy Huff. Friends may call 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, March 29 at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, East Corinth, where a service of remembrance will be held at 3 p.m. with Pastor Garnett Chute of Hermon Baptist Church officiating. A spring interment will be announced at a later date.
