ST. AGATHA – Earl Benchoff McGlaughlin Jr., 68, died Dec. 6, 2003, at the Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle. He was born Sept. 29, 1935, in Moline, Ill., the son of Earl and Bernice (Campbell) McGlaughlin Sr. He was retired from the Air Force and U.S. Customs Service, was a member of the American Legion, VFW, St. Agatha Parish Council, St. Agatha Credit Union Council, St. Agatha Plumbing Inspector and served many others during his life. He is survived by his wife, Muriel (Chamberland) McGlaughlin of St. Agatha; his adopted daughter, Debi Selinger of London, England; his son, Earl B. III and daughter-in-law, Kristy; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Earl Benchoff IV of Hampton, Va.; son, Jason L. and daughter-in-law, Elaine, of St. Stevens, New Brunswick; daughter, Jill and future son-in-law, Shane Durost, of Fort Kent; two brothers, John of Washington, Ill., and Frederick of Moline, Ill. He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Eunice Schrock. Earl was a devoted husband and father. He was a man who loved life and fought bravely until his untimely death. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and all those who knew his smile. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the St. Agatha Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Raymond officiating. For those who desire, donations may be made to the Edgar Paradis Cancer Fund or the Christian Foundation for Children and the Aging. Envelopes are available at the church.
