GRAY – Eben Andrew Dickinson Sr., 85, died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005. He was born March 4, 1919, in Kenduskeag, a son of Charles Dickinson and Lodisa Goodridge Dickinson. He completed grammar school in Kenduskeag, and attended two years at English High School in Boston. Mr. Dickinson served during World War II in Japan and the Aleutian Islands. He served in the Army 18th Engineers Division. After the war attended Coyne Electrical and Technical School in Boston. He was later employed by Bangor Hydro Electric Co. Eben lived in Pottstown, Pa. for a period of 25 years, where he was employed by Pottstown Plating Works. In 1978, Eben moved to Gray where he has resided for the past 27 years. Eben will fondly be remembered by all as the gentleman who happily pushed his grocery cart all about Gray comer, running errands. Eben was predeceased by his wife, Carrie Holmes Dickinson and seven brothers and sisters. Surviving are a daughter, Trudy Dunton of Hampden, daughter, Diane Goode of North Dakota, son, Eben Dickinson Jr., of Georgia, and daughter, Merilyn Leman of Washington. Also four grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his special friends, the Edson family of Gray. A remembrance time will be held 10 a.m. Friday, at Wilson Funeral Home, 24 Shaker Road, Gray.
