MACHIAS – Edgar “Ted” E. Myers, 89, passed away Jan. 9, 2007, at his home. Ted was born April 21, 1917, in Machias, the son of the late Fred and Bertha (Reynolds) Myers. He retired from the U.S. Geological Survey Team in 1971. At that time, he and his wife, Marnie, returned to Machias and continued doing independent surveys throughout Washington County. He is survived by his children, Sharon Stanhope of Lincoln and her children, Teddy, Susan, Stacy, Kathy and Cindy and Chris; a son, Greg Myers and wife, Leta, of Machias and their children, Matthew, Michelle, Michael and Rebecca; many great-grandchildren; and beloved cat, Tory. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret “Marnie” Myers in March of 2006; and a sister, Lucy. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Longfellow Cemetery, Machias.
