OLD TOWN – Edith V. Miles, 66, wife of the late David E. Miles Sr., died peacefully Feb. 2, 2005, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 9, 1938, in Lincoln, the daughter of Henry and Blanche (Sibley) Boyd. She was employed for several years at the Philips-Strickland house in Bangor. She is survived by three daughters, Tina Stoddard and her husband, Hayden, of Greenfield, Jane Drew and her husband, Tim, of Bangor, Phyllis Standley of Old Town; a son, David Miles Jr. and his wife, Stacy, of Old Town; four granddaughters, Stacy Stoddard, Beth Robbins, Becky Standley, Julia Miles; a grandson, who was “the apple of her eye” Justin Drew; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Paradis, of Lincoln; a brother, Richard Boyd, of Lincoln; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be sadly missed by her friends at the Riverhouse and Bradford Commons and special friend, Loretta Adams. She was predeceased by her husband David E. Miles Sr.; an infant son, Henry Miles; brothers, Bernard Boyd and Byron Thibeau; and sister, Bernice Reynolds. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral Home with Pastor Buddy Frankland, officiating. Spring interment will be at Lawndale Cemetery Old Town.
