LEVANT – Edna Louise Call, 64, wife of Galen N. Call for 49 years, passed away Sept. 18, 2005, at a Bangor hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. Edna was born Dec. 11, 1940, in Bangor, the daughter of Ralph M. and Grace E. (Bubier) Thayer. She was a devoted wife, mother and Nana who loved gardening and canning and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed for her special way of preparing meals, especially her pies. She served as excise tax collector for Levant for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Minerva Grange and the Senior Citizens of Levant. Edna loved a good game of cribbage with her family. A special thanks is extended to family and friends for their love and support, especially her cousin, Mabel. The family also extends their thanks to the nursing staff at St. Joseph Hospital for their care and compassion. Edna is survived by her husband and childhood sweetheart, Galen, of Levant; children, Louise Call of Hermon, Stephen Call and wife, Dawn, Gene Call and wife, Lori, and children, Megan and Ryan, Kevin Call and wife, Tammie, and children, Natasha, Neil, and Kevin Jr., all of Levant; one aunt, Doris R. Phillips of Hermon; several cousins. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Rick Lambert officiating. Interment will be in Waugh Cemetery, Levant. Family and friends are invited to gather at Minerva Grange following the service.
