BANGOR – Edrie Burnett (Crockett) Adams, 93, of 10 Water St., Bangor, died March 28, 2004. She was born April 8, 1910, the only child of Chester Earle and Lelia May (Staples) Crockett. At the age of 12, she wanted to be baptized and wear special sandals that her father made, she was baptized at the First Baptist Church. She was married to Earl William Adams on July 24, 1935, in New Brunswick. They had one child, Robert Earl Adams born on April 2, 1940. Mrs. Adams had at one time been employed as a supervisor by the Paige Telephone Answering Service Physician’s Exchange and she was a Notary Public. Her husband died after a long illness on Oct. 1, 1960, and their son died on Jan. 16, 1982, from a snowmobile accident. She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star, Fidelity Chapter No. 32 of Houlton. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Mary-Ellen (Denihan) Adams; grandchildren, Robert Earl Adams II, Carolyn Ann Adams, John Edward Adams, Lois Edrie (Adams) Mello and Tina Marie Adams; great-grandchildren, Adam Robinson, Robert Adams III, Marie Seymour, Mindy Adams, Chad Adams, Robert Mello and Hazel Dow. Mrs. Adams chose to be cremated without a service. She will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery, Bangor, next to her husband and son.
