CHERRYFIELD – Edson “Ted” L. Schoppee, 95, passed away Oct. 23, 2005, at Narraguagus Bay healthcare facility. He was born Dec. 16, 1909, in Steuben, the son of the late George and Minnie (Burke) Schoppee. Ted served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married the love of his life, Eleanor Tracy, in September 1934. He worked most of his life as a trackman for the Maine Central Railroad. Ted was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cherryfield. He was also a member of the Cherryfield Masonic Lodge No. 88. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Eleanor Schoppee, and many special friends. He was predeceased by four sisters and one brother. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Small Cemetery in Cherryfield. Memorial contributions may be made in Ted’s memory to the Cherryfield Historical Society, P.O.
