CARMEL – Edward A. “Bud” Neddeau, 84, died at his home in Carmel Aug. 4, 2005. He was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Mapleton, the son of the late William “Bill” and Zella R. (Grindel) Neddeau, formerly of Presque Isle. He graduated from Presque Isle High School, Class of 1940. In 1954, he went to work as a truck driver for the Bridge Construction Company of Augusta, and later as their first Gradall operator. In 1976, he went to work for S.D. Smith Construction Company of Chester. He retired in 1985, and worked for the Town of Carmel doing odd jobs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and his ponies, at one time he and his wife, Arlene, raised Polled Herefords. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Louis L. Neddeau. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Arlene (Larlee Hayden) Neddeau; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Hayden of Woodland; one stepson, Clifford Soderberg and his family, all of Limestone; six stepgrandchildren, Pam B. and her husband, Gary Depue and family of Anchorage, Alaska, Dean and his wife, Tammy, and family of Anchorage, Alaska, Susan B. Crosby and family of Anamosa, Iowa, Jay C. Belanger, and family of Corinth, Jeffery V. and his wife, Raylene Belanger and family of Caribou, Valerie A. and her husband, Marvin D. Rossignol and family of Caribou. He will be sadly missed by an old and dear friend, Emma (White) Barnes; and good friends, Sandra and John Deluck, and all his other friends from Carmel and Aroostook County. The family would like to thank all who helped during this sad time especially everyone at hospice and Carmel Health Center. In keeping with his request services will be private. Interment will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Presque Isle. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
