VAN BUREN – Edward E. Ayotte, 70, died March 8, 2007, at a Caribou hospital, after a long illness. He was born April 10, 1936, in Lille, the son of Joseph Peter and Rosanna (Beaulieu) Ayotte. He was employed as a carpenter most of his working life. Edward is survived by his wife, Simonne (Simon) Soucy Ayotte of Van Buren; two daughters, Lisa Lajoie and her husband, Gary, of Topsham, and Susan Cyr and her husband, Jeff, of Topsham; one son, Michael Ayotte and his wife, Cindy, of Van Buren; two stepdaughters, Diane Madore and her husband, Jimmy Don, of Van Buren, and Lisa Taggett and her husband, Michael, of Frenchville; one stepson, Jimmy Soucy of Van Buren; one sister, Rosanna Ayotte of Randolph; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Armand and Albert Ayotte. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 a.m. Monday until time of service at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Spring interment will be in the family lot at St. Augustine Cemetery, Augusta.
