OLD TOWN and FRANKFORT – Edward Francis Dupray, 90, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jan. 28, 2008, while at a Bangor healthcare facility. He was born March 14, 1917, in Brewer, the son of Lewis F. Dupray Sr. and Minnie (Hamel) Dupray. Edward was a hard worker and worked in shoe factories most of his life. He enjoyed babies and children, gardening, traveling and playing the organ. Edward had great faith and loved to read his Bible everyday. He will be remembered as a gentle spirit who deeply loved his Lord and Savior. He is survived by his children, Leonard Dupray and his wife, Brenda, of Bangor, Amos Dupray of Bangor, Charles Dupray and his wife, Miko, of Texas, Gary Dupray and his wife, Victoria, of Orono, Clifford Dupray and his wife, Ann, of Dixmont, and Sharon Tracy and her husband, Gerald, of Old Town; one brother, Lewis Dupray Jr. and his wife, Catherine, of Hampden; one stepsister, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Arlene. Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Rena (Adams) Dupray, Oct. 26, 1988; a daughter, Nadine Carpenter; and a son, Edward “Sonny” Dupray Jr. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, with Pastor Jim Russ, pastor of Bethesda Chapel of Old Town, officiating.
