ORONO and CANTON, Mass. – Edward Henry Rosenthal, 82, devoted husband of Estelle (Shu-man) Rosenthal died May 25, 2005, at Dirigo Pines, after a long illness. He was born May 29, 1922, in Boston, the son of Samuel and Bertha Rosenthal. Edward graduated from Northern High School in Detroit, Mich., and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving as a ship’s electrician. Ed was a self-employed businessman, the owner of AAA Maintenance Co., in Boston. He was an active volunteer at the Children’s Shriners Hospital for many years and was a member of the Aleppo Temple of Boston and the Scottish Rite. In addition to his wife of 58 years, Estelle; he is survived by a son, Robert P. Rosenthal, M.D. and his wife, Barbara, of Bangor; a daughter, Jeri-Lyn Shoro of Hampden; a son, Lawrence S. Rosenthal, M.D. and his wife, Linda, of Westborough, Mass. Ed was the proud grandfather of Laurie Qualey, Kari Rosenthal Annand and Scott Rosenthal, Eric Shoro, Brittany and Sam Rosenthal. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the dedicated staffs of Premier Home Care of Bangor, Hospice of St. Joseph, and Dirigo Pines in Orono. A private graveside service for the family will be held at Sharon Memorial Park in Sharon, Mass., on Friday, with the Rabbi Richard Messing officiating.
