MILLINOCKET and MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. – Edward Paul Lyle, born March 24, 1938, was unexpectedly called home to be with his Lord and Savior Sept. 25, 2006. Ed was a member of Millinocket Baptist Church for many years and was most recently a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Mount Holly, N.C. He was also involved in Macadonian Ministries and ABC churches of Maine. He has touched many people with his love for God and is loved by his family, and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all. He worked for Great Northern Paper for many years in the coater plant, until his retirement after an injury in 1971. He was predeceased by his parents, Wilmer and Pauline Lyle; and one brother, Leroy Lyle. He was the loving husband of his wife, Shirley (Mason) Lyle; the loving father of two daughters, Joy Austin and husband, David, of East Millinocket, Gay Dewar and husband, Jeff, of Lowell, N.C.; and one son, James Lyle and wife, Laura, of Gastonia, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Eric Austin and wife, Melanie (Nicholson), of McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., Ashley Jo Austin of East Millinocket, Matthew Cyr and friend, Crystal, of Mount Holly, N.C., Jessica, Brianna and Austin Lyle of Gastonia, N.C., and Benjamin Dewar of Charlotte, N.C.; and one beautiful great-granddaughter, Natalie Lynn Austin of McGuire Air Force Base, N.J.; two brothers, Robert and wife, Martha and Wayne and wife, Beth; three sisters, Lila Miller and husband, Richard, Donna Cyr and husband, Ernie and Beatrice Morgan and friend, Chris; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Bouchard – Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where services will be held 11 a.m. Interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery, Millinocket.
