CAMDEN – Frances E. (Wheelock) Berry, 83, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at Knox Center For Long Term Care, Rockland, where she had resided for several years. Born Aug. 8, 1923, in Skowhegan, she was the daughter of Jesse O. and Isabelle (MacClain) Wheelock and was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Fairfield. On Feb. 25, 1942, she married Robert T. Berry. Surviving are her five children, Arleigh Huntley and her husband, Byron, of Camden, Robert A. Berry and his wife, Alice, of Lincolnville, Wayne C. Berry and his wife, Marie, of Hope, Charles “Chum” A. Berry and his wife, Brenda, of Camden and Thomas R. Berry and his wife, Susan, of Billerica, Mass.; a sister, Jesse LaChance of Waterville; nine grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Berry in 1999; and brothers and sisters, Florence, Mary, Thelma, Bion and Carroll. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at the Nativity Lutheran Church, Rockport. Private interment will be at the Seaview Cemetery, Rockport. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Maine Chapter, 163 Lancaster St., Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101. Arrangements are with the Laite Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St., Camden.
