HOWLAND – Gloria (Forrest) Drake Cassio, 84, died Sept. 24, 2006, at Cummings Health Care, after a long illness. She was born May 21, 1922, in East Millinocket, the daughter of Ernest and Mildred (Stubbs) Forrest. Gloria graduated from Brownville High, Class of 1940, where she was involved in school activities, especially basketball. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Drake) Hallett and friend, Thomas Andrus, of Howland; four grandchildren, Lisa Martin and sons, Matthew and Jason Pete, Troy and Patricia Martin and sons, Gregory and Jeffrey, Brent and Terry Martin and son, Justin and daughters, Melynda and Marissa and Denise (Hallett) Davis and her husband, Jeffrey; great-great-grandchildren and two brothers, George and wife, Beryl Forrest and Gerald Forrest; one sister, Jeannine (Forrest) Ames and her husband, Norman and many nieces and nephews. Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Robert Drake; two brothers, Norman and Ronald Forrest; a daughter, Donna (Drake) Martin; and a son-in-law, Gilman Martin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Leo Catholic Church, with the Rev. Leroy Landry, presiding. Interment will be at Howland Cemetery.
